Job Summary:

The Opportunity Research Intern will support Business Development and Proposal teams by identifying federal and state government contracting opportunities, organizing research findings, assisting with proposal preparation, and maintaining opportunity tracking records. This role offers hands-on experience in government contracting and public sector procurement, requiring strong research, organizational, and communication skills. Training will be provided, and no prior experience is necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Search federal, state, and local government procurement websites for new business opportunities.
• Monitor sources such as SAM.gov, state procurement portals, and other bid websites.
• Identify Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and Requests for Information (RFIs) relevant to the company.
• Prepare summaries of opportunities including agency, due date, scope of work, and eligibility requirements.
• Maintain an organized pipeline of upcoming opportunities.
• Assist in reviewing solicitation documents and extracting key information.
• Support proposal team with document preparation, formatting, proofreading, and compilation.
• Create and maintain proposal trackers, checklists, and document repositories.
• Gather company information, past performance details, and templates for proposal responses.
• Support submission preparation activities under supervision.
• Update and maintain opportunity and proposal tracking spreadsheets.
• Prepare weekly reports of identified opportunities.
• Organize research data and procurement documents.
• Assist Business Development team with administrative and research-related tasks.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Political Science, Communications, Marketing, Economics, Information Systems, or related field.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Strong research and internet navigation skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Willingness to learn government procurement processes.
• Experience with online research projects or academic research.
